New Orleans is a special place for me that holds a lot of memories and this is a subject hat just pisses me off. I have a half written short story that is a parody of the ridiculous handling of the Katrina aftermath.
TRAVIS, I hope you finish that story. It's a good setting for a pirate story, as well, and I've thought of doing one, but haven't figured out the right the right ending yet.
LANA, me too! Why did so many events requiring intelligent presidential response have to happen during the tenure of the most incompetent president in history?
Shauna, I wish it were just incompetence. But a lot of the Bush/Cheney decisions were calculated. Maybe not New Orleans--I got the impression they weren't really concerned about it--but certainly Iraq.
STEVE, I knew that Bush had had plans for invading Iraq ready long before 9/11. Yet they did not have even the most basic plan for rebuilding the country. And the idea of forcing democracy on people instead of letting them choose their own form of government can hardly be called democratic.
I don't know anything about warfare except what I learned from reading history books, and I'm sure I done things better in Iraq. (starting with going after the terrorists where they actually were, which wasn't Iraq)
